About this tool

Correct over- or underexposed photos in exposure stops, just like on a camera: +1 doubles the light and −1 halves it. The change is made in linear light, so colors and shading stay natural.

Protect highlights rolls bright areas off smoothly when you brighten, and the Blacks slider deepens or lifts the darkest tones to restore contrast after a correction.

  • Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
  • No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.

Questions and answers

Can I recover blown-out highlights?

Areas that are pure white in the file contain no detail, so no tool can bring it back. Lowering the exposure darkens the rest of the picture and makes bright areas look less harsh.

What does one stop of exposure mean?

One stop is a doubling or halving of the light. +0.33 is a third of a stop, the step size most cameras use.

Is Exposure free?

Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
