Compress Image
Shrink JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF files, keep the quality
Runs in your browser. Files never leave your device.
How to use Compress Image
- Choose or drop your images. You can add several at once.
- Adjust the settings and check the preview.
- Download the result, or every file at once as a ZIP.
About this tool
Make photos and graphics smaller without visible loss. JPGs are re-encoded with MozJPEG, PNGs are reduced to an optimized color palette that keeps transparency, and WebP and AVIF use their own modern encoders.
Drop in as many images as you like. Each file shows its new size and how much you saved, and a before-and-after slider lets you check the quality before you download.
- Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
- Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
- No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.
Questions and answers
How much smaller will my images get?
Typical phone photos shrink by 40–70% at the default quality, and PNG screenshots or graphics often by 60–80%. Files that were already heavily optimized may not get smaller; in that case the original is kept.
Will compression reduce the quality?
At the default settings the difference is very hard to see. Use the before-and-after slider to compare, and raise the quality if you notice any artifacts.
Can I convert while compressing?
Yes. Choose WebP or AVIF under “Save as” for the smallest files, or JPG for the widest compatibility.
Is Compress Image free?
Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
