Questions and answers
How can I get more accurate results?
Select the right language, use a sharp and well-lit image, and crop to the text with Selected area. For photos of pages with shadows, turn on Black and white; for very small text keep Enlarge small text on.
Can it read handwriting?
It is made for printed text. Neat handwriting in block letters may work, but cursive handwriting is usually not recognized reliably.
Is the text recognition done online?
No. The engine and the language data are downloaded to your browser once and the image is read on your device, so nothing is uploaded.
Is Image to Text free?
Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
