About this tool
Many phones save photos as HEIC (also called HEIF). Convert them to JPG so they open on any computer, in any app and on every website. You can drop a whole batch at once.
The conversion uses your browser’s own HEIC support, which Safari on macOS and iOS provides. The date taken and camera details are kept, and location data is removed unless you choose to keep it.
- Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
- Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
- No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.
Questions and answers
Why doesn’t it work in Chrome, Edge or Firefox?
HEIC pictures use HEVC compression, and those browsers don’t include a decoder for it. Open this page in Safari on macOS or iOS, or set your phone’s camera to save photos in the most compatible (JPG) format.
Why can’t I open HEIC photos on my computer?
HEIC uses a compression method that many programs and some operating systems don’t support without extra software. JPG works everywhere.
Does converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?
At the default 90% quality the difference isn’t visible. JPG files are usually somewhat larger than the HEIC originals.
Can I convert a whole album at once?
Yes. Select or drop as many HEIC files as you like; they are converted one after another and download together as a ZIP.
Is HEIC to JPG free?
Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
