About this tool
Make slightly soft photos crisper with an unsharp mask, the classic sharpening method used by photographers. Amount sets the strength, Radius the size of the detail that is enhanced, and Threshold leaves smooth areas such as skin and sky alone.
Sharpening works on brightness only, which avoids colored halos. Turn on “Preview at 100%” to judge the effect at actual pixels before you download.
- Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
- Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
- No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.
Questions and answers
Can this fix a badly blurred photo?
No. Sharpening makes existing edges crisper, which helps slightly soft images a lot, but it cannot recreate detail that was never captured, such as heavy motion blur.
What settings should I start with?
For photos, Amount 100–150%, Radius 0.8–1.5 px and Threshold 2–4. For images you plan to shrink for the web, sharpen after resizing.
Why does the effect look weak in the preview?
Large photos are shown scaled down, which hides fine detail. Turn on “Preview at 100%” to see the real effect.
Is Sharpen Image free?
Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
