About this tool

Fine-tune an image with levels and a channel mixer. Set the black point, white point and midtones for all channels or for red, green and blue separately, and watch the histogram as you go. Auto and Auto color set the levels for you and remove color casts.

The channel mixer blends the color channels in linear light, for creative color swaps or precise black and white conversions in monochrome mode.

  • Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
  • No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.

Questions and answers

What does Auto color do?

It stretches each color channel so its darkest and brightest values reach black and white, which removes most color casts in one click.

How do I make a black and white photo with the channel mixer?

Turn on Monochrome and adjust how much red, green and blue contribute. Keep the total near 100% to keep the overall brightness.

What do the output black and white values do?

They limit the darkest and brightest tones of the result, for example to get a faded look or to stay within a printer’s range.

Is Color Editor free?

Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
