How to use Photo Location

  1. Open a photo to see its location data.
  2. Type new coordinates or use your current location, or choose to remove the location.
  3. Download the photo with the new location, or without any location.

About this tool

See where a photo was taken from its GPS data: latitude and longitude in decimal degrees and in degrees, minutes and seconds, plus altitude and direction when the camera recorded them. Open the spot on a map with one click.

You can also remove the location before sharing a picture, or set a new one by typing coordinates or using your device’s current position. JPG, PNG and WebP files keep their exact quality because only the location data is rewritten.

  • Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
  • No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.

Questions and answers

Which coordinate formats can I type?

Decimal degrees such as 48.85837, 2.29448, values with N, S, E or W, and degrees, minutes and seconds such as 48°51′29.6″N 2°17′40.2″E.

Why does my photo have no location?

Location is only saved when location access was on for the camera. Many apps and social networks also remove it when you share or upload a picture.

Is my location sent anywhere when I use my current position?

No. Your browser asks for permission and passes the position to this page only; it is written into the photo on your device.

Is Photo Location free?

Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
