About this tool

Make real scenes look like tiny models. A sharp band stays in focus while the blur grows above and below it, and a boost in color and contrast adds the toy-like look of a miniature.

It works best on photos taken from a high viewpoint, such as streets, harbors or crowds seen from a roof or a hill. Place the band over the subject and tilt it to follow the scene.

  • Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
  • No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.

Questions and answers

Why do tilt-shift photos look like miniatures?

A very shallow depth of field is what we see when looking at small objects up close. Imitating it on a large scene tricks the eye into reading it as a model.

Which photos work best?

Scenes shot from above at an angle, with people, cars or buildings in the middle distance. Straight-on shots and close-ups are less convincing.

Is Tilt-Shift free?

Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
