About this tool

Darken or lighten the edges of a photo to draw attention to the center. Darkening is done like natural lens falloff, so corners deepen gradually without looking gray or flat.

Set how much of the center stays untouched, how soft the transition is and whether the shape follows the photo or forms a circle. You can also fade the edges to white or any color.

  • Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
  • No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.

Questions and answers

How strong should a vignette be?

For most photos a subtle vignette works best: the viewer should feel it rather than see it. Around 30–50% with a soft transition is a good start.

Can I make a white vignette?

Yes. Choose “Lighten” to fade the edges to white, or “Color” to fade them into any color you like.

Is Vignette free?

Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
