About this tool
Add a soft, realistic drop shadow to a cutout, logo or product photo with a transparent background. The shadow follows the shape of the subject, and the canvas grows so it is never cut off.

Questions and answers
What settings look most natural?
A small offset straight down, a large blur and an opacity of 30–50% looks like soft overhead light. A sharper, darker shadow suggests direct light.
Why is the shadow a rectangle?
The image has no transparent areas, so its shape is the whole rectangle. Remove the background first to get a shadow that follows the subject.
