About this tool
Separate artwork into spot colors for screen printing: choose how many inks to use and each color becomes its own film, black on white or on transparent, ready to print and burn onto a screen. A color preview shows the print on your garment color.
The background can be left unprinted, small specks are cleaned up so they don’t clog the mesh, and registration marks help you line up the screens. Everything downloads as one ZIP with the films, a composite preview and a list of the inks.
- Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
- Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
- No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.
Questions and answers
How many colors should I use?
As few as the design allows: every color is another screen to make and align. Logos and illustrations often need 2–4; set the number and check the preview.
Can I change an ink color?
Yes. Click a swatch in the ink list to set the exact ink color. The separations stay the same; only the preview and the ink list change.
Does it create halftones for photos?
No. Each area is printed as solid spot color, which suits logos, text and illustrations. Photos with smooth gradients need halftone screening, which this tool doesn’t do.
Is Screen Printing Separation free?
Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
