How to use Image Measurement

  1. Open a photo that shows an object of known size.
  2. Draw the reference line over that object and type its real length.
  3. Measure lines, paths, areas, angles or circles, then copy the results or download the annotated image.

About this tool

Measure real lengths, areas, angles and circles in a photo. First draw a line over something whose size you know, such as a ruler, a door or a sheet of paper, and type its length. Every measurement after that is shown in millimeters, centimeters, meters, inches or feet.

Measurements stay editable: drag any point to adjust it, undo mistakes, and download the picture with all lines and labels drawn on it.

  • Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
  • No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.

Questions and answers

How accurate are the measurements?

They are as accurate as the reference and the photo. Objects must be at the same distance from the camera as the reference and seen straight on; perspective and lens distortion make farther or tilted objects measure wrong.

Can I measure a scanned drawing or a map?

Yes. Draw the reference line along the scale bar, or choose DPI if you know the scan resolution.

Can I measure in pixels only?

Yes. Choose Pixels as the scale and every value is shown in pixels and square pixels.

Is Image Measurement free?

Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
