About this tool
Add a layer of noise to photos and graphics: Gaussian or uniform, monochrome or colored, with a size from single pixels to coarse blocks. Noise can hide banding in gradients, add texture to flat designs or make a picture look less digital.
The noise pattern is repeatable, so the preview always matches the downloaded image.
- Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
- Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
- No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.
Questions and answers
What is the difference between Gaussian and uniform noise?
Gaussian noise has many small variations and a few strong ones, like camera sensor noise. Uniform noise spreads values evenly, which looks harsher and more digital.
Can noise fix banding in gradients?
Yes. A small amount of monochrome noise breaks up visible steps in smooth gradients, especially before saving as JPG.
Is Add Noise free?
Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
