About this tool

Put a solid color behind a transparent PNG, sticker or cutout, for example to make it ready for a form, a marketplace listing or a format that has no transparency.

Photos with a plain background work too: choose “Plain background” and the old background color is found from the corners and replaced with the new one, keeping soft shadows and edges natural.

  • Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
  • Free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
  • No limits on file count or size beyond what your device can handle.

Questions and answers

How do I change a white background to another color?

Choose “Plain background”, pick the new color and download. Adjust the tolerance if some of the old background remains.

Why doesn’t the color show on my JPG?

JPG files can’t be transparent, so there is nothing behind the picture to fill. Use “Plain background” to replace a solid background instead.

Can I give many PNGs the same background?

Yes. Add all of them and download them together as a ZIP.

Is Change Background Color free?

Yes. Every tool on ImgImage is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you process.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are processed by your own browser and never leave your device. Nothing you open here is sent to a server.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers. Large files are processed faster on a computer.
